Optimal operation of multiple microgrids under network reliability based on asexual reproduction algorithm

Authors

Abstract:

Today, the number of micro-distribution networks is increasing. Meanwhile, for various reasons that can be justified in the field of smart grids and electricity market, the optimal operation of these microgrids is of great importance. On the other hand, the existence of high-intensity accidents has been the reason for the creation of micro-networks in many countries, which shows the importance of using multiple micro-networks to deal with these accidents. In this paper, the optimal use of interconnected microgrids to respond to normal and critical conditions is investigated. Since multiple microgrids can be connected to the main network and also to each other, so creating appropriate operating conditions while maintaining their independence is important. The purpose of this paper is to optimize network reliability. In this case, the keys between the microgrids is one of the items that are considered to provide the conditions for optimizing the microgrids. In the presence of renewable energy sources and the reliability of these sources, the simulation is performed by creating a scenario and applying it to the optimization program. The optimization objective function is performed by an evolutionary algorithm called asexual reproduction.

Optimal Operation of Microgrids Under Demand Side Management

One of the major problem in the optimal operation of the power system is optimal operation of microgrid with regard to the Demand-side-management. From one side, demand-side-management programs  reduce the operating costs of the power system and on the other hand, the implementation of these programs requires a financial incentive policies. In this paper, optimal operation of microgrid with dem...

Microgrids Operation And Control Under Emergency Conditions

Under normal conditions, the MicroGrid operates interconnected with the upstream medium voltage network. However, scheduled or forced isolation can take place. In such conditions, the MicroGrid must have the ability to operate stably and autonomously, requiring the development of suitable control strategies in order to enable MicroGrid islanded operation. The MicroGrid power sources can also be...

Control Stability Evaluation of Multiple Distribution Static Compensators based on Optimal Coefficients using Salp Swarm Algorithm

In order to solve the problem of voltage drop and voltage imbalance in the distribution systems, the injection of reactive power by multiple static compensators is used. The distributed generation such as photovoltaic systems could play a role of the static compensators by producing reactive power. In this paper, the integral to droop line algorithm is used to control the reactive power in busb...

Optimal operation management of microgrids using the point estimate method and firefly algorithm while considering uncertainty

This paper analyzes the behavior of Hong’s point estimate method to account for uncertainties in probabilistic energy management systems to optimize the operation of a microgrid (MG). These uncertainties may arise from different sources, such as the market prices, load demands, and electric power generation of wind farms and photovoltaic systems. Point estimate methods constitute a remarkable t...

Optimal Reconfiguration of Distribution Network for Power Loss Reduction and Reliability Improvement Using Bat Algorithm

In power systems, reconfiguration is one of the simplest and most low-cost methods to reach many goals such as self-healing, reliability improvement, and power loss reduction, without including any additional components. Regarding the expansion of distribution networks, communications become more complicate and the number of parameters increases, which makes the reconfiguration problem infeasib...
